Do you find yourself not having the outcome you want in your dating life? Trust me, when I say you’re not alone. Today’s dating environment can be noisy and overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Getting out there to find love and being a successful dater should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience, so we are here to share how to make that happen.
Get the insider tips that will give you the dating edge and will help you stand out from the crowd.
Every successful dater has…
a. Positive Dating Mindset.
Your attitude plays a huge role in the type of experience you’ll have because it will guide the language you use, the judgements you make, and can keep you stuck in endless dating loops.
You’ve had some disappointing dates? So what? It doesn’t mean every date will be this way unless your attitude is such. Look around you; your current world is a reflection of what you’re saying to yourself on a daily basis.
There is nothing wrong with being single; your journey is yours to learn from. With that being said, make sure you have a positive answer when asked, “Why are you single?”
b. A Polished Image.
When was the last time you purchased something that WASN’T visually appealing to you? Your answer is most likely “NEVER”. Why is that? Because we are attracted to what we find beautiful and intriguing.
Guess what? The same concept applies to dating and who you show up as. According to research conducted in the UK*, our clothing does influence the impressions made about us and give others insight on socially important things.
Take an inventory of your closet. Is it an accurate representation of who you are? Our in-house stylist recommends a closet inventory before the start of a new season to help you keep your looks stylish and fresh. So, before you go out to get Starbucks, take a glance in the mirror and ask yourself, “What impression am I giving to others?”
c. An Introduction.
You know the drill. Every time you’re at a bar or a party, you get asked the same series of questions, don’t you? So, having a prepared introduction sets you apart from the pack.
You have 3-6 seconds before a person makes a decision on whether or not they want to continue engaging with you. Make it count! Invest some time in preparing your personal “elevator” pitch. Having a solid introduction will show your confidence and open the door for a conversation to blossom.
d. A Dating Card.
Make yourself memorable by having a dating card that showcases your personality and leaves an everlasting impression. This is what our clients tell us makes a difference when meeting people in organic environments.
Here are some tips on creating your dating card:
- Use a current, professionally taken picture where you are posed in a fun way.
- Select colors that reflect your personality but also compliment your skin tone.
- Choose clothing that is solid colors, flattering, and avoid patterns.
- Make it double-sided. One side your image, the other side with your information.
